2016-10-19create empty static files conditionallyWaldemar Brodkorb
2016-10-08cleanup libc.aWaldemar Brodkorb
The nested libpthread_nonshared.a and libdl.os shouldn't be included in the static libc.a. Fixes compile issues for static builds.
2016-09-26use a single libc and deduplicate threading codeWaldemar Brodkorb
Similar to musl libc a single libc has many benefits and solves some open issues with uClibc-ng. - no pthread_mutex_* weak symbols exported anymore - applications no longer failing to link when either -lrt or -lpthread are missing for dynamic and static linking mode - smaller C library - slightly better runtime performance
2016-08-27remove DOMULTI supportWaldemar Brodkorb
A single test with targeting ARM showed that this feature seems bit rotted. Remove DOMULTI and simplify Makefiles.
2016-06-23libs: install backward compatibility symlinksAlexey Brodkin
Simplify the switch from uClibc to uClibc-ng. Apps already built against uClibc-0.9.x.y require .so.0 libs to present on target which in case of current uClibc-ng is not the case and those apps could not be run. This change creates symlinks from .so.1 to .so.0 for most of other libs in the same way as it was done by 23e96d89b6ab "ldso: install backward compatibility symlink by default" Signed-off-by: Alexey Brodkin <abrodkin@synopsys.com> Cc: Waldemar Brodkorb <wbx@uclibc-ng.org> Cc: Vineet Gupta <vgupta@synopsys.com> Cc: Anton Kolesov <akolesov@synopsys.com>

2012-06-15libubacktrace: temporarily workaround link issueBernhard Reutner-Fischer

2012-06-13buildsys: clean up libubacktrace linker script handlingKevin Cernekee
Currently, the installed libubacktrace linker script entry always uses HARDWIRED_ABSPATH semantics, even if HARDWIRED_ABSPATH is disabled: $ grep GROUP $PREFIX/mipsel-linux-uclibc/sys-root/usr/lib/libc.so GROUP ( libc.so.0 uclibc_nonshared.a AS_NEEDED ( ld-uClibc.so.0 ) ) GROUP ( AS_NEEDED ( /lib/libubacktrace.so.0 ) ) This causes problems when building a non-sysroot toolchain. Move the AS_NEEDED insertion into libc/Makefile.in, and add a case to the HARDWIRED_ABSPATH substitution command so libubacktrace is handled the same way as the other libraries listed in the script. 2011-03-05Add Makefile support for DSBT ELF.Bernd Schmidt bernds_cb1@t-online.de
This adds support for a new binary format, DSBT ELF, to the Makefiles. Every shared library is assigned a DSBT index, and the link.so macro is adjusted to ensure the correct linker argument is passed. Configuration and ldso support will follow in separate commits. 2010-04-22nptl: proper soname handlingNatanael Copa
Since sublevel releases are not ABI compatible we need to adjust the soname to include the sublevel version. This makes it possible to install ABI incompatible versions of the library side by side so clean upgrades are possible. 2009-06-28libc.so: include all output formats in linker scriptSteve Bennett
Rather than ripping out the default output format from the linker, include the big/little endian alternatives for the people who link with bi-endian toolchains. 2008-06-04- strip the targets and not prerequisitesBernhard Reutner-Fischer
- tidy up PTHREADS_DEBUG_SUPPORT by using per-target STRIP_FLAGS for the few This fixes the spurious rebuilds bernd and vda were seeing with libpthreads.
2008-06-01A slight improvement over my previous commit which ensured we always rebuildBernd Schmidt
libc when one of the source files changes. Since there are more places which want to depend on $(libc), fix them all to use a new variable $(libc.depend), which contains the filename for which we have a rule.
2008-05-31Fix a dependency to mention libc.so, not libc.so.0, as we only have a rule toBernd Schmidt
build the former.

2008-01-17- fix linking.Bernhard Reutner-Fischer
We use the compiler-driver and not ld.
2008-01-17A patch from our Blackfin repository, originally from Jie Zhang. This fixesBernd Schmidt
a problem where the linker was trying to use the wrong symbol name for the init function. Define SYMBOL_PREFIX as _ in Rules.mak for h8300, bfin, i960, microblaze, and v850. Add -D__UCLIBC_UNDERSCORES__ in CFLAGS for targets which define SYMBOL_PREFIX as _. Remove defines and undefs from uClibc_arch_features.h of each target. Add $(SYMBOL_PREFIX) to __uClibc_init when passed by ld option -init.
2007-11-23Some shared flat improvements.Bernd Schmidt
Fix minor errors: - UCLIBC_SHARED_FLAT_ID instead of SHARED_FLAT_ID - use -Wl,-shared-lib-id properly Use libc_so.a as the source for the shared libc, in order to be able to use -mleaf-id-shared-library on the Blackfin.
2007-10-13- use the compiler-driver instead of the linkerBernhard Reutner-Fischer
- adjust setting flags accordingly to use (hardcoded, see below) -Wl, Potential improvements: *) --warn-unresolved-symbols should perhaps be used for all libs *) eventually rename LDFLAGS to CC_LDFLAGS *) probe for compiler driver's notion of flag to use for passing in linker flags (i.e. don't hardcode "-Wl,")
